When it comes to finding something to read online, there’s no shortage of choice. Remember the old encyclopedia sets? All that information is online. There’s Google, Wikipedia, and countless other ways to find entertaining and useful information. Not to mention, personal feeds.

Tweets fly by hundreds by the second, depending on how crowded your feed is. LinkedIn and Facebook are all crowded avenues flooded with content. RSS Readers are flooded as well. Readers will give your blog or website just a few seconds on average before they commit or click away. There’s no shortage of ways people can spend their time online. You need to grab their attention immediately.

You want to make your online marketing efforts worthwhile? Write something worth reading. Find the content that your readers will be looking for.

If you’re a local realtor, why not write a blog about destinations, and events in the local area? This could mean local sports teams, restaurants, hotels, state parks, and other major attractions.

If you run an auto insurance company, why not write on the aspects of car ownership? This could be changing the oil yourself, the best types of gas to put in your engine, and how to winterize your car. It’s information people will be interested in.

These are just two ideas. For just about any industry, the right blog angle can be found.

The best way to find customers online is to offer something that your competition does not. Don’t sterilize your website copy. Instead, relish the opportunity to tell your customers what they’ll get by hiring you. It’ll help you stand out.
