I have news for you. Your readers and customers are not sitting down at the computer all day long to take in advertisements. When it comes to your blogging, and other regular marketing materials, you might not want to treat them like they are.

It’s time to give your readers something they’ll be interested in. It’s time to write informative and engaging material that they can use. Blogging and social media are about the intimate interactions that weren’t possible while television, newspapers and phonebook ads were king.

The way to develop those intimate interactions is to work hard at providing valuable, informative content on a frequent basis that your readers will truly benefit from. You may not develop customers overnight through good blogging, but as readers take note of the content that they see, they’ll stop back. The goal is for them to keep you in mind when they do need your services.

Instead of writing commercial after commercial, try offering tips for those shopping for your products or services, book reviews, industry news, or something else that may help your readers. There are always blogging ideas out there. Once you understand the difference between a blog and a sales letter, your marketing will truly benefit.
